I've always had a passion for attending IT and cybersecurity conventions. I’ve had the opportunity to attend two Hack Space Con events held at the Kennedy Space Center—both incredibly inspiring experiences. At one of the conferences, I had the chance to assist in leading a Practical Networking Fundamentals workshop. In this hands-on session, we taught the basics of networking and how LANs operate.
I helped set up a server, access point, and network switches to demonstrate key networking concepts. To challenge both beginners and advanced attendees, we also introduced a vulnerable domain controller to encourage ethical hacking and exploration. The server ran on Proxmox, which allowed us to simulate various protocols and services for testing.
Being part of this workshop was both educational and exciting, and the energy at the Kennedy Space Center always makes the experience even more memorable.
